The Missing Links

The Missing Links were formed by band member Daniel ("Davy") Steven Lopez during the Monkees 30th anniversary tour of the United States and England. "The HUGE success of the Monkees television show and the popularity of their many hit songs over the last FIVE decades is what prompted my interest in starting a Monkees tribute band" states Daniel. He continues, "Like millions of others, I've always been a big fan of the Monkees. I thought it would be great to have a tribute show that performs all of the hit songs of the Monkees and the classic rock of that era. I also wanted to put together a more FUN, exciting family oriented type of show and the Monkees are one of the few groups in Rock and Roll history that most people seem to remember and recognize. "We really bring a lot of energy to the Missing Links show." says Daniel. The Monkees television show is also brought back to life with first rate Actor/Musicians and replicas of the Monkees musical instruments, costumes and props.

"I must admit it was much more difficult to cast a Monkees tribute band than a Beatles one," explains Daniel, creator of the internationally acclaimed Beatles tribute band Backbeat. "Not only did I have to find really good Monkees sound and look alikes, but I had to also find musicians who could act, make people laugh and play those classic Monkee songs perfectly." Daniel continiues, "The Monkees are VERY under-rated because the best musicians in the world played on many of their records. It was really tought finding musicians who could pull off playing those classic Monkees records LIVE. Finding a first rate drummer/singer to play Micky Dolenz, a brilliant guitarist/vocalist for Mike Nesmith, an accomplished musician like Peter Tork, and a short funny British front man to impersonate Davy Jones seemed next to impossible! We were very fortunate to accomplish the feat when I finished casting the Missing Links." Their strong musical ability, high powered energy and sharp comedic skills have made these fantastic Monkees sound and look-alikes the country's hottest new tribute act!

The Missing Links perform all TEN of the Monkees top ten hits including: I'm a Believer, I'm not your Stepping Stone, Valleri, Last Train to Clarksville, and Daydream Believer. The band also performs classic rock songs from 1954 to 2004 including music from legendary rock icons like The Beatles, Elvis, Rolling Stones, Doors, Beach Boys, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Eagles and music by Motown, the British Invasion , Dance music, etc.

John Lennon called the Monkees the "Marx Brothers" of Rock and the Missing Links deliver with real zeal. There isn't a more fun show on the tribute music scene today. "This band really gets people to laugh and have a good time." states Daniel, "There isn't another showlike it America!"
