Green River
Meet The Band
Jeff Black
LEAD VOCALS, ELECTRIC GUITAR, ACOUSTIC GUITAR, KEYBOARDS
Jeff is the great pretender! He has played the part of Paul McCartney and Jack Bruce, both of whom were the lead singers and foundations of their respective groups. It comes as no surprise that he is a natural for the role of John Fogerty, a part that calls for a powerful voice and a powerful presence. It also helps that, in physical appearance, he is a dead ringer for the man. Jeff states that Fogerty is by far his favorite singer/guitar player and goes on to say that, "John Fogerty makes the sublime seem simple." Jeff has toured with legends like Billy Joel, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddily and Del Shannon. He has recorded three albums, six singles and has one gold record to his credit. He has toured with a "Beatlemania" cast and has made numerous TV appearances.
Robert Annati
BASS, BACKGROUND VOCALS, KEYBOARDS
Robert is a versatile "in the pocket" player that can blend into any studio or stage situation from Jazz to Rock. He comes from a totally musical family and has the incredible quality of "perfect pitch". His last major tour was with the "International Platters". He says his attraction to Creedence is due to their unique sound, and is determined to play Stu Cook's bass lines with note for note accuracy. He credits Cook as an "underrated early bass pioneer" who's lines are sophisticated yet fun to play. His extremely high falsetto and ultra low bass background vocals help to give Green River that authentic Creedence sound.
Dan Newman
ACOUSTIC GUITAR, ELECTRIC GUITAR, BACKGROUND VOCALS
The first album that Dan purchased, when he was a kid, was "Green River by CCR. He met Jerry Crepeau several years later and the two of them formed a group called "Dream City". Dan went on to manage the Musician's Exchange, a nationally renowned staple on the music scene for almost two decades. In the late 1980's he toured with Dr. John and with "Motive", his own all original group. His identification with the part of Tom Fogerty is nothing less than natural. "Tom's contribution was as a somewhat underrated genius. He was the heart and soul of the group and its conscience. Without him the band couldn't survive" (as history has shown). Dan goes on to say that "CCR stands the test of time, and is still my favorite music".
Jerry Crepeau
DRUMS, PERCUSSION
Jerry's list of credits reads like a who's who of show business. Stints with the Allman Brothers Band, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Godspell and Grease are very high profile. He has played in hotels, parks and stadiums from New York to Hawaii and in such diverse locales as Rio de Janero, Santiago and Budapest. He has made records, done TV shows, and played legitimate theatre. His drumming runs the gamut of style from Jazz through Blues to Rock. In every venue however, one thing remains consistent, that is his ability to adopt to the style called for. Strangely, Jerry states that playing like Doug Clifford calls for no adaptation at all, since that style is his own natural style anyway. So, for Jerry, being Doug Clifford means being himself.
