Bio

Ever since N.S. watched the “The Sound of Music” when she was a child, she dreamed of being a performer. “It’s funny because I have these old videos my father took of all of us (there were 7 of us as well, I the youngest) while we were growing up. Whenever my father was filming one of my siblings around the house, I’d just walk right up to the camera and push them out of the way and start singing everything under the sun!” N.S.'s aunt, a former opera and movie star who lived in Rio de Janeiro, inspired her to continue her dream. “I was able to go to Rio to see my aunt only once and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. She wanted me to try to get through the obstacles that prevented me to be an artist. My father allowed music in our home, but rock and roll not well received. It was a miracle we were allowed to hear the Beatles in our house. My sister had died in a car accident at the age of 14 on her way to see a rock band. My aunt knew that my parents would never give their support of me if I was involved in rock and roll.”

When N.S. was 18, she had the freedom to start playing guitar and writing her own music. It was then that she was told she sounded so much like Stevie Nicks. Friends encouraged her to form a band as a tribute to Stevie, but it wasn’t until years later she was able to do so. Finally in 1995, she put together her own band Mirage, a tribute to Fleetwood Mac and Heart, where she would sing all the timeless hits of Stevie Nicks, as well as pick up a guitar and become the part of Nancy Wilson, whom she also had great admiration for. The band proved to be one of the best tributes in the Midwest opening for national acts such as Cheap Trick, Paul Rogers (Bad Co.) and Howard Leese (Heart), Mark Farner (Grand Funk), Chuck Negron (3 Dog Night), Kansas, to name a few. N.S. and her band also participated in several benefits for families in crisis that were headlined by Jim Peterik (Ides of March/Survivor). Performing at venues such as Hawthorne Race Track, Comisky Park (Chicago White Sox), World Music Theatre D.A.R.E. fest, Chicago’s Navy Pier, The Vic Theatre as well as many clubs and summer festivals brought the band much recognition in the area.

N.S. has relocated to Las Vegas where she has reformed her Fleetwood Mac tribute titled “Wildheart.” “This time I just wanted to concentrate on Fleetwood Mac and Stevie. I love Heart, but when we were a tribute to both bands we didn’t get to play all the hits of either artist. Now I can sing all of Stevie’s songs that people love to hear. I was lucky to find a fabulous “Lindsay” and “Christine” to compliment me. I know I sound just like Stevie, but when the three of us sing together we sound like Fleetwood Mac and that’s even bigger. We’re a new band as far as being out in Vegas, but if anyone takes a listen and compares us to any of the other Fleetwood/Nicks tributes---we’ll prove that we are what you’re looking for.”

Aside from performing with Wildheart, N.S. is also available to give a Stevie Nicks solo performance either with full band accompaniment or to background tracks. This year she is finishing her original cd’s both rock and country.
